What It Means to "Gift Stronger," Part 2

The back-to-school season is filled with new beginnings—fresh notebooks, sharpened pencils, and hopeful anticipation for what the year will bring. But beyond the new backpacks and spiffy shoes, there’s an even more powerful gift we can send with our kids into the classroom: kindness. Whether your kids go off to school, or are educated at home, teaching them to show kindness is one of the greatest gifts you can give them.

At Gift Stronger, we believe that the strongest gifts create lasting connections. And one of the greatest gifts we can give our families, friends, and even strangers is a spirit of kindness.

Why Kindness Matters

Jesus reminded us again and again that kindness is a priority—it’s a reflection of His heart living in us. In fact, one of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5) is kindness, evidence that God’s Spirit is alive and active within us. Still, kindness is a daily choice. Each morning we decide: “Will I walk in kindness today?” When we choose to let Jesus shine through us with even the smallest acts, those ripples of kindness can spread farther than we’ll ever know.

Think back for a moment:
✨ Who has shown you kindness in your life?
✨ How did it make you feel?
✨ Did it inspire you to show the same grace to others?

Maybe it was a teacher who spoke encouragement at just the right moment. A friend who stood by you when you felt alone. Or even a stranger who smiled and reminded you that you mattered. Those moments stick with us—and they shape how we treat others.

Back-to-School Kindness in Action

The school year brings endless opportunities to sprinkle kindness into the day. It doesn’t have to be big or complicated—just thoughtful and intentional.

Here are a few simple ways to gift kindness this school year:

  • Slip a note of encouragement into your child’s lunchbox.

  • Ask your kids each evening: “Who did you show kindness to today?”

  • Encourage them to sit with the new student at lunch or help a classmate who’s struggling.

  • Model kindness yourself—in the car line, at the grocery store, and in your own words at home.

Each one is a little reminder that they are loved, valued, and called to be kind.

💌 Let’s Build a Kinder Community

Not every gift comes wrapped in paper and bows. One of the greatest gifts we can give, absolutely free, on a daily basis, is kindness. When we choose to gift kindness, we’re not just brightening someone’s day—we’re teaching the next generation what it means to live out their faith in real, tangible ways.

Final Thought

Back-to-school season is about more than backpacks and supplies—it’s about sending our kids out equipped with kindness, courage, and compassion. Let’s commit to making this school year one where kindness leads the way.

Because at the end of the day, the strongest gifts are the ones that point us back to Him.
